The articles were written by Russ Gager, Jim Harris and Chris Petersen. Eddie winners were announced Oct. 31 in New York.

Beverly, Mass., January 28, 2011—The cover story of Retail Merchandiser's May/June 2010 issue has won a gold Eddie award from Folio magazine. The article, “A New Alternative,” was written by Amanda Gaines, former editor-in-chief, and looked at the way drugstore chain Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy's unique retail strategy positions it to help the US balance its healthcare challenges. The article won for best single article in the retail category.

Eddies are given out by Manhattan-based Folio in recognition of excellence in editorial. The Eddie and Ozzie awards recognize excellence in magazine and online editorial and design. In 2010, the awards drew more than 2,000 entries across 101 editorial categories and 49 design categories.
