From no-drill technology to designer collaborations, Blinds 2go offers solutions for everyone to live beautifully for less Having celebrated its 25th anniversary in March 2025, Blinds 2go is the UK’s largest dedicated online retailer of blinds and curtains, offering a stunning range of patterns, colors, styles, and textures, as well as an array of leading designer brands. Committed to customer service, the company’s website makes it easy and risk-free for customers to shop for window décor online, with easy-to-follow measuring and fitting guides, a free sample service, and measurement insurance. “Blinds 2go was the first specialist online blinds retailer in the UK, founded in 2000 in two small flats in Mapperley Park, Nottingham,” opens Nick Thomas, CEO. “One flat served as the sales and marketing department and the other was purchasing and accounts, but it quickly got to a point where the flats were both full of blinds, so we made our first move. “Two decades and three more office moves later, we’ve covered over 14 million windows in the UK. We focus on delivering high-quality blinds and the highest standards of customer service. By delivering directly to the consumer, we can concentrate entirely on product selection and convenience, which allows us to offer exceptional value so that all our customers are able to live beautifully, for less.” Investing in innovation Elaborating on the product range, Nick continues: “We strive to make it simple for the DIY customer to install custom-made window coverings, engineering simplicity and convenience into our product systems to lead the way in no-drill and electric options. By offering market-leading customer service and our SureSize guarantee, we remove the risk of measurement errors. “We’re constantly researching and investing in new technologies to bring our customers the highest quality in shading, style, and insulation, at the best prices. Our most recent innovation, the highly successful no-drill collection, enables customers to install Roller, Roman, Pleated, and Shutter blinds with a simple click or twist and no tools needed, dramatically reducing the cost of installing your own custom-made blinds. “This is hugely popular with customers for obvious reasons, so innovation is rife in this space with more inventive solutions constantly being developed. We’ve added Stick 2go solutions to our range, which don’t require a recess or beading, and we’ve also recently launched affordable, no-drill TotalShade ranges, which offer complete blackout solutions but also significantly reduce noise.” Aside from the no-drill ranges, Blinds 2go has also expanded its exterior products range. “Since the pandemic, there’s a trend towards increased investment in outdoor living spaces, an area we expect to continue to grow as our summers continue to get warmer,” Nick explains. “The garden really is an extension of the home, and we think many consumers want to create summer spaces that they can relax and unwind in without the premium price and expense involved in complex installations. However, we’re conscious of entering this category while remaining true to our principle of simplicity and ease of installation. The range has expanded significantly for 2025, and we are excited about the partnerships we have which will help make installation easy and low cost for customers.” Brand collaborations The company also collaborates with leading brands to bring new designs and collections to market. “We’re thrilled to announce the launch of an exclusive collection of gorgeous blinds and curtains in partnership with the legendary London design studio, Liberty,” Nick reveals. “Liberty is famed for its directional design and celebration of craftsmanship built on its founder’s legacy to seek out the new and beautiful. Having worked with Liberty’s dedicated in-house design team, we’ve created a stunning collaboration that customers can dive into, from an adventurous and elegant range of pattern work to an eclectic mix of statement florals, scrolling landscapes, and zoological marvels. “We are also delighted to share our very recent partnership with Disney, bringing the enjoyment and escapism of Disney to homes. All your favourite characters are available with these beautifully coloured classics. Exquisitely made in sumptuously soft fabrics and practical finishes, customers can invite character into their homes.” When it comes to ESG, the company takes a holistic approach to sustainability. “We’re very aware of the environmental impact that comes with running an e-commerce business, especially with global logistics in the mix. While we’re actively exploring ways to reduce our carbon footprint across the supply chain, we are also focused on the positive impact of our products. “Our thermal blinds, for instance, play a direct role in improving home energy efficiency, helping to retain heat during the colder months and block excess sunlight in the summer. The British Blinds and Shutters Association (BBSA) recently released statistics showing that solar shading can reduce internal temperatures by up to 19 degrees Celsius in the summer and reduce heat loss through windows by up to 33 percent in the winter, meaning less reliance on central heating and air conditioning. While this benefit is often overlooked, it’s incredibly powerful, especially when scaled across thousands of homes. For us, it’s about combining thoughtful design with real-life function to create solutions that are not only beautiful and easy to use, but also help our customers make more energy-conscious choices at home. “From a community perspective, we’re delighted to sponsor The Duchenne Dash this year, an annual 300km 24-hour cycle ride between London and Paris raising funds for the rare and fatal genetic disease Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I’m taking part for the seventh time this year and it gets harder every year but is well worth it for the cause.” Technological transformation As our conversation ends, Nick turns to what’s next for Blinds 2go. “We’re currently undergoing a technological transformation which will see our end-to-end systems significantly upgraded and fit for the future,” he says. “Our new platform will provide a best in class, seamless experience from research to purchase, making made to measure blinds and curtains shopping easier and more intuitive than ever. As we evolve, we will prioritize personalization, content, product visualization, automation, and AI driven solutions to ensure we give our customers frictionless and relevant experiences. “For 2025, we remain focused on the modernization of the business, sustainable efficiency improvements, and continuing to develop our product range while putting the customer, service, and product at the forefront of everything we do,” Nick concludes. “We want customers to be inspired to improve their homes with our ranges, and delighted by their experience with us from start to finish by finding the solution that helps them live beautifully.” www.blinds-2go.co.uk 30 April 202529 April 2025 Iain Designer, Nick Thomas, United Kingdom, 205, Blinds 2go, Blinds 6 min read Brand strategyInsights
