Behind-the-Scenes with Macy’s Holiday Windows

Coming to view the holiday window displays at Macy’s on State Street, formerly Marshall Field’s, has been a tradition for locals and tourists of Chicago for 48 years. The displays aim to take viewers on a holiday journey with extremely detailed creations, animatronics and a child-friendly story. This year is no different as Alex, a young boy, receives a magical telescope that enables him to experience the wonder of Christmas on other planets. He and his dog travel throughout the galaxy with Santa Clause in a display titled “Santa’s Journey to the Stars.”
